Senate Chaplain Rabbi Mona Alfi

O gracious and loving God,
Your sacred text teaches us of the importance of taking a Sabbath – a cessation from work. You tell us that we must do so, so that we might rest and be refreshed. Without a break in our work, we can not appreciate the blessing that comes from it.
As the Senate prepares to take a break in its labors, we turn to You and pray that it be Your will that all those who work here find their bodies and their souls rested and refreshed in the coming weeks, so that they might return with renewed vigor and energy to serve the people of California.
May this be God’s will. --Amen.
