O Holy and Gracious God,
Our country is a beautiful and elaborate tapestry woven with the rich textures and colors reflecting the many ethnic and religious groups that live throughout our land. Every group has contributed their own unique threads to our history and our culture, and we are a stronger nation because of it.
This weekend thousands of Californians will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo. It is a day for us to remember and appreciate the many contributions that Mexican Americans and all Hispanics have made to our country, and to our great State.
May we always remember to give thanks for the contributions made by all of the people of California, and the many ways which the blessing of diversity enriches our lives. May this be God’s will--AMEN.
