O holy and wondrous God,
In Song of Songs, you gave us words of joy to express the beauty of spring, as it is written: “Behold! the winter is past and the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing is come..” (Song of Songs 2:11-12).

And yet, in this great State that we are blessed to live in, too often we take for granted the natural beauty of our land, not taking the time to appreciate and give thanks for the wonders that fill every corner of California.

So as the winter rains subside, and the lushness of our hillsides, the bounty of our farmland, the majesty of our forests, the sparkle of our lakes and the breathtaking beauty of our coasts shine in the California sun, let us give thanks to our Creator by taking the time to enjoy the gifts that we have so generously been given. May this be God’s will. Amen.
